BlackBerry Tour Release

On Sunday, the highly anticipated BlackBerry Tour from Research in Motion (RIM) hit the shelves of Verizon Wireless stores.

The 3G Global Tour will join the current line of BlackBerry models that include BlackBerry Curve, Storm, Bold and Pearl.

According to the Official BlackBerry Tour Press Release, the Tour is a "3G world phone, giving customers the option to make phone calls in 220 countries and to access e-mail and Internet in any of the 175 countries where Verizon Wireless provides data roaming services."  

The Tour comes packed with all the features that have come to be expected from the industry leaders including:

  • Push email
  • Social networking (including Facebook, Flickr, and MySpace)
  • Instant Messaging (Windows Live™ Messenger, Google Talk™, Yahoo!® Messenger, AOL® Instant Messenger™ or ICQ® applications built specifically for BlackBerry smartphones)
  • Media player for music and movies
  • Built-in video recording
  • Camera with Geo-Tagging capability – allows customers to take photos with a 3.2 megapixel camera* with image stabilization, auto flash, auto focus and 2x digital zoom. Date, time and location stamp geo-tag supported by camera, BlackBerry Maps and Flickr
  • 256 MB internal flash memory; 256 MB RAM
  • HTML Web Browsing
  • Bluetooth® headset-capable (fully compatible with the iSkin Cerulean F1 headset)

Just last month, iSkin ventured into the BlackBerry realm by creating a line of vibes cases for the Curve, Storm and Bold that have been very successful.  Currently, our production team is looking into developing a case for the BlackBerry Tour that will be fashioned in the vibes style.
