
10 Questions to Cako.
We've seen a lot of interest for the silo bags from fashionistas, geek chicists and technistas alike. We got positive feedback about the design, Happy Friends, and thought of sharing more info about the designer himself, and what he was thinking when he came up with those colourful little monsters (if you squeeze the green one, your laptop will squeak.. kidding).
Here's 10 QUESTIONS TO CAKO MARTIN, prolific illustrator from Sao Paolo, Brazil.

Describe your design philosophy. I try to use all of my visual references like nature, pop culture, graffiti and contemporary art. Things that i love.
What was your inspiration for creating designs for silo? My personal toy art collection.
How do you want people to see and interact with silo laptop carriers? Maybe some customization in the bag will be awesome.
Craziest thing that happened to your laptop. My last visit to New York i forgot all of my geek chargers inside the car at the airport in Brazil. When i arrived there i trying to find in my luggages, in the hotel room, lobby....All things like camera, ipod, cellphone and laptop off. I bought all rechargers again to access the internet, music, etc...
Happiest laptop experience. I can loose my laptop with anybody include my work and the guys will be recognizes 'cause i use an adhesive with my illustration with a colorful acrylic cover. Anybody will say: Cako's laptop!
I love my laptop so much... I could bring with me in all of my trips.

About Cako Martin:
Cako Martin is an art director and illustrator. Graduated in Industrial Design by the College of Fine Arts in São Paulo. He has worked on advertising agencies,
and currently he is part of the design team at Young & Rubicam Brazil, from the Newcomm Group/WPP.
His work based on free-hand art and a mixture of vibrant colors, resulting in inspiring images. His references are nature, pop culture, graffiti and contemporary art.
These references where shown in one of his best exhibitions, called “Peles/Skins”, in São Paulo, Brazil. This exhibition was about portraits of contemporary people
that deserved to have their story told. Through strong and beautiful lines, many times even grotesque, he has presented his vision of celebrities around the world,
such as Marilyn Monroe, Barack Obama, Caetano Veloso, Mick Jagger, Madonna among many others.
His work has spread to many places like Brazil, United States, Germany, Italy, Greece, by many publications as Cent Magazine (UK), Zeroin (Greece), Caras (Brazil), CCSP (Brazil), CoolMagazine (Brazil), Daslu (Brazil), IM / Representing the Underachiever (USA), Zupi (Brazil), Novum (Germany) and many others like Rotovision (England) and Zeixs (Germany) publishers.
In 2008 he was invited to take part of the campaign “69 with condom” for Levi's Brazil, creating an exclusive t-shirt along with other artists, where part of the income
was donated for the “Sociedade Viva Cazuza”, an important institution that help fighting AIDS. In the same year, he has illustrated a wall of the famous restaurant Duplex, in São Paulo that was in permanent exhibition throughout the year.
In the current year of 2009, he has taken part of an exhibition created by Moytoy (that promotes cosmopolitan and universal city culture and urban arts in Lithuania)
called Phobias Exhibition in Kaunas, where he has created four posters with characters inspired in toy art by different kinds of phobias.
Last September 2009, Cako was invited to participated of "Crazy About Italian Shoes” exhibition, promoted by Graphola with Associazione Nazionale Calzaturifici
Italiani about history of Italian shoe. Your work was shown in Milan exhibition about the Italian fashion universe.
February 2010 Cako will show his world in Cowparade 2010 São Paulo Brazil.
